Baking Days – Sticky Toffee Pudding

Hey guys! Since arriving home from uni I have become determined to get back into baking. I used to bake a lot and I have always loved it. Since uni kitchens can get pretty messy (there was six of us all cooking individual meals each day) I tend not to bake much whilst I’m there. I plan to use some of my spare days over the summer baking up some tasty treats.

Yesterday was Father’s Day and so how could make anything but my dad’s favourite pudding? We had a marvellous roast dinner and then I served up a sticky toffee pudding with proper homemade toffee sauce. I really enjoyed making it because it was the first time I had baked anything in such a long time.

I used a recipe from All Recipes, which you can find by clicking here. I must say it didn’t go perfectly. You can’t tell from the pictures but I’m going for honesty here. For some reason, whether that be the size of the baking dish or that the oven was not on the perfect setting, the sponge refused to bake fully in the centre and only on the top half. However, the rest baked to a soft and sweet sponge and the toffee sauce was to die for. I will hopefully bake it again another time and get it spot on. Anyhow, I took some photos whilst I was baking and I am quite proud of my finished result.

It was a delicious end to the meal and rounded off such a lovely Father’s Day. I would love to hear if you have any recipe recommendations that you know are particularly yummy. Let me know and I will try them out!

Lots of love,
